Queens Hotel, Eastbourne

The Queens Hotel is a Grade 1 listed prominent landmark. We were commissioned to re-construct the main lift shaft and install a new lift serving eight floors. Serious fire damage and major structural failures proved to be a challange. Each floor had to be proped then new steel added to hold the floors and new brickwork built to the sides of the shaft. New concrete and steel bracings were inserted to the main walls of the lift shaft to strengthen the structurally unsafe building. The project was finished on time - the hotel had to be opened again for Easter bookings!
