An old mews cottage built in the 1840s in the Calverley Park area of Tunbridge Wells was converted in the 1960s and required extending and updating. A London firm of architects were commissioned to provide the client with a stunning new home.
The old canopy used for tacking up the horse and carriages was removed along with a building built underneath. We then built the replacement incorporating a new style roof which mirrors the original. We used oak beams to support the new structure giving a superb medieval-like feel. A new extension was added to the side of the cottage giving the client a further bedroom and en-suite. The rest of the cottage was altered giving a superb open plan kitchen living/dining room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all re-designed and using the very best of modern materials. New oak flooring was fitted throughout to complete the refurbishment of the cottage
