Do you need cavity wall insulation?

If your house has cavity walls and is not already insulated, then you need cavity wall insulation. Houses built from the 1920s onwards are usually built with cavity walls. Houses built from the mid 1990s generally had cavity wall insulation installed when they were built. Not only this, but it will also help you when it's time to sell your home. HIPs (Home Information Packs) are now mandatory when you sell your home. The Energy Performance Certificate is an important part of the HIP, giving a detailed report on the energy efficiency of your home and an overall rating (A to H). Full insulation of your home will increase your energy efficiency rating helping you to sell your home.

What next?

The first step is to arrange for a free survey of your home to assess suitability. One of our surveyors will visit you to determine whether you have the right type of wall, free of internal obstructions and not currently containing any insulation. They will draw up a plan of exactly what is required for your home, for you to approve. If the grant to which you are entitled is less than 100% then the survey will include a quote for the balance of payment, usually not more than £199. We can then co-ordinate with you to agree a date and time for our installers to insulate your home. This normally takes two to three hours, including tidying up afterwards.
